National Character Building Campaign reaches 139th school; students urged to put nation first, embrace Swadeshi and stay drug-free
HERBERTPUR, SEPTEMBER 18: The National Character Building Campaign reached its 139th school on Friday with an inspiring programme at Government Inter College, Herbertpur, where students, teachers and staff were encouraged to put the nation first, promote indigenous products and contribute to building a drug-free India.
Dr Atul Krishna, national president of Abhinav Bharat and founder of the Subharti Group, addressed the gathering and emphasised the role of character, values, discipline and patriotism in shaping the country’s future.
“The future of the nation depends on the character, values, discipline and sense of patriotism among its youth,” Dr Krishna said, urging students to cultivate patriotism, self-reliance and a positive outlook.
Swadeshi linked to jobs, self-reliance
Raghunath Singh, departmental coordinator of the Swadeshi Jagran Abhiyan, called upon students to make greater use of indigenous products. He said the idea of Swadeshi goes beyond consumer choice and is closely linked with strengthening the domestic economy, creating employment and promoting self-reliance.
Music used to spread anti-drug message
Dr Ravindra Kumar Saini, director of the National Character Building Campaign, used a motivational bhajan to highlight the harmful effects of substance abuse and appealed to students to stay away from drugs.
Through the message, “Nasha na karna, maan lo kehna, mere bhai-behna, nahin to hogi badi kharabi…”, students were encouraged to lead healthy, disciplined and responsible lives.
Balwant Bohra and Jagdish Gupta, OSDs with Subharti Hospital, were among those present, along with teachers and other staff members of the school.
The programme also acknowledged the efforts of school principal Avinendra Badthwal towards the overall development of the institution. His humility, approachable nature and warm interaction with students and colleagues were particularly appreciated.
The programme concluded with a broader message of nation-building, with students being encouraged to uphold character, discipline, patriotism, Swadeshi values and a drug-free lifestyle.
