Dehradun , A grand seminar and intellectual discussion was organized at the auditorium of the Provincial Office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on the auspicious occasion of “Hindu Samrajya Diwas”. The event witnessed the gracious presence of senior RSS functionaries, swayamsevaks, representatives from various social and educational organizations, and several distinguished citizens.

The programme was conducted by renowned poet Shrikant Shri, who began the event in his inspiring and energetic style by reciting the motivational lines:

“With every passing moment, we move closer to victory;
Relentlessly, we continue to ascend new milestones of progress.”

He warmly welcomed the guests and introduced the dignitaries present.

In his introductory address, Vijay Ji briefly introduced the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and explained the tradition of the organization’s six annual festivals, their objectives, and their relevance in contemporary social life. He stated that these celebrations are not merely commemorations of specific dates but serve as powerful instruments for building an organized, cultured, patriotic, and self-confident society.

The keynote speaker, Dhananjay Ji, the RSS Department Pracharak, said that Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was not merely a ruler of the Maratha community but a symbol of the self-respect, self-rule (Swaraj), and cultural identity of the entire Hindu society. He dedicated his entire life to establishing Hindavi Swaraj, protecting religion and culture, and restoring the self-esteem of Hindu society.

Referring to the research of several historians, he emphasized the decisive role played by Rajmata Jijabai in shaping Shivaji Maharaj’s personality. He remarked that Jijabai not only nurtured Shivaji with nutritious food but also instilled in him the invaluable values of patriotism, righteousness, justice, moral character, and leadership.

Dhananjay Ji also highlighted Shivaji Maharaj’s courage during his childhood, stating that at around the age of twelve, he fearlessly opposed cow slaughter in Bijapur and stood against injustice. He further noted that the spiritual guidance of Samarth Guru Ramdas greatly strengthened Shivaji Maharaj’s character, leadership qualities, and national vision.

Describing the political conditions under the Mughal and Adil Shahi regimes, he explained that Shivaji Maharaj’s growing influence and popular support deeply concerned the Mughal Empire. He recounted the campaign of Afzal Khan, the conspiracies devised against Shivaji Maharaj, and his extraordinary courage and strategic brilliance in overcoming them. He also paid tribute to Baji Prabhu Deshpande, describing his supreme sacrifice, unwavering loyalty, and patriotism as an immortal chapter in Indian history that exemplifies bravery, duty, and devotion to the motherland.

The speakers observed that “Hindu Samrajya Diwas” is not merely a remembrance of a historical event but a celebration that rekindles national consciousness, cultural pride, self-respect, and the spirit of unity. They stated that, even today, the life of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj continues to inspire young people with the ideals of courage, leadership, good governance, patriotism, and dedication to duty. They urged the youth to follow Shivaji Maharaj’s ideals and actively contribute to nation-building.

The seminar concluded with a collective resolve to follow the ideals of Hindavi Swaraj established by the first Hindu Emperor, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, and to work towards national prosperity, social harmony, cultural awakening, and the creation of a united and organized society.
